August 31, 4-6 PM - Hot air balloon rides with RE/MAX Trinity
This year the iconic RE/MAX hot air balloon will make a stop in Hudson Aug. 31 during the 2014 Labor Day festivities. Weather permitting, tethered rides will be offered from 4-6 PM at the Western Reserve Academy soccer field on Rt. 91. For a donation of $5 per person, you can rise above the trees for a bird's eye view of the community. All proceeds will go to the Western Reserve Academy Scholarship Fund. With nearly 95 RE/MAX hot air balloons around the globe, RE/MAX has the world's largest balloon fleet. The balloons make over 5,000 appearances each year. September 12, 5-8 PM - Second Friday Art Hop. Theme: "Hudson Icons"
Second Friday Art Hops are a collaborative effort designed to promote the arts in Hudson and support the work of studio artists and galleries. Artist studios and galleries in Hudson have teamed up with local businesses to host a regular monthly event for art lovers in the area. Visitors can tour working studios or art galleries in the downtown Hudson area. Peek inside an artist's studio and see firsthand the work that's being created in Hudson's expanding arts community. The studios and art galleries offer a wide variety of artwork: paintings, jewelry, watercolors, oil paintings, realistic work and abstract art. You can even catch live music around town. Many of the artists offer art classes and workshops and will be happy to tell you about them. Maps are available at participating studios and galleries or download one here.
