We're having our annual Book Club Open House on Saturday, April 12th, from 1-3 PM. This year you will also have the opportunity to meet Kathryn Craft, author of The Art of Falling, a book about a young ballet dancer trying to understand her past and begin again after a tragic accident she has no recollection of. April 13, 7:30-9 PM - Yoga for Loss Workshop at Yoga Lounge & Barre
Whether it is losing a job, death of a loved one, or the end of a relationship, loss is an inevitable part of life. This workshop will explore how yoga can be used as a tool for healing during the grieving process. The Learned Owl History Book Club will meet to discuss James Garfield. This group is open to all who are interested: Read any book on the topic and join us or just come to listen! There is no need to register. The book club meets monthly on the last Sunday of the month and the group chooses the topic together for the following month. In recognition of the 100th anniversary, our May topic will be WWI.

Yoga Lounge and Barre is teaming up with Vertical Runner for a spring running (walking) and yoga program during the month of May. May 3, Noon - Kentucky Derby party at Peachtree Southern Kitchen
On Saturday, May 3rd stop down to Peachtree Southern Kitchen for the Kentucky Derby. The festivities will kick off at noon. There will be food and beverage specials all afternoon long. Mint Juleps will be the featured drink of the day. Snack on a "Kentucky Hot Brown", which is an open faced Turkey sandwich with Brown Gravy and Mashed Potatoes. Author Daniel James Brown (The Boys in the Boat) will be giving a talk and signing books at the Hudson Library (time TBA). The Boys in the Boat is the irresistible, dramatic, and poignant story behind the triumph of the American rowing team that stunned the world at Hitler's Olympics. It's a terrific look at history as well as the personal story of the boys who made up the team. The book is currently available in hardcover, and will be released in paperback on May 27.
