September 3-5 - Jim Hjelm Trunk Show at All Brides Beautiful
Jim Hjelm bridal gowns offer runway look in a variety of styles with great fabrics that provide classic lines and timeless cuts such as the elegant scoop neck and fitted waist styles, sweetheart bodices, lace cummerbunds, crystal detailing and other accents that exhibit pure elegance. September 4, 1-3 PM - Local author Pamela Frost at The Learned Owl Book Shop
Medina resident Pamela Frost will be here with her new book, Houses of Cards, a memoir of investing in real estate. Local folks may remember Pamela from her other signings here as a contributor to the Cup of Comfort series.

September 5-6 - Taste of Hudson
The Taste of Hudson is returning for its 6th year to historic Downtown Hudson. The 2009 Taste of Hudson attracted over 30,000 food- and fun-loving patrons, making it one of the biggest and most successful events ever held in the entire region.
Co-presented by Akron Children's Hospital, Summa Health System, and Acme Fresh Market, the Taste of Hudson benefits the Summit County Safe Kids Coalition, Leadership Hudson, and numerous area charities.
The Taste of Hudson in 2010 will include:
     * Culinary delights served in affordable sample-sized portions from a varied selection of Hudson area restaurants.
     * Wine & Beer Tasting Garden featuring live music, fabulous food from Laurel Lake Executive Chef Andrew Jackson, select beers from Anheuser Busch and House of LaRose and dozens of wines of the world to choose from!
     * Acme Fresh Market sampling tent and family fun on Acme Avenue.
     * Dozens of Exhibitor Tents located throughout the festival.
     * Learn cooking secrets and techniques from featured chefs in the demonstration tent.
     * Live music from seven stages featuring over 90 local and regional bands and entertainers.
     * Children's crafts and activities in Little Tikes Land featuring the latest and greatest from Hudson's own Little Tikes.
     * Health screenings and child safety education courtesy of Akron Children's Hospital and Summa Health System.
     * Performance artists strolling throughout the festival site
     * Fine Arts Fair featuring some of the area's finest artisans and crafters.
     * A youth art exhibition sponsored and coordinated by FASTFRAME
     * Family activities, inflatables and toddler rides on the Clocktower Green.
     * Community Dining Tent

September 10, 7 PM - Author Lisa Black at The Learned Owl Book Shop
Lisa Black returns with her latest thriller, Trail of Blood. Black's other fast-paced Liz Picks include Takeover and Evidence of Murder. In addition to being a novelist, Black is a real-life coroner in Florida.

September 18-19 - Trunk show at The Green Roots Collection
The Green Roots Collection will host a trunk show Saturday and Sunday, September 18th and 19th, to benefit Hudson in Bloom for Benefit of Hudson Community Foundation. The trunk show will showcase Before & Again and English Retreads, two eco-conscious brands. Both companies' merchandise is made in the U.S.A. Before & Again specializes in combining fresh new colors and prints with burnout fabric, resulting in one of a kind all-over print shirts as unique as the individual who wears them. The company utilizes environmentally friendly recycling practices, involving no disposable dye chemicals. There will be more than 50 styles available from Before & Again. English Retreads creates one-of-a-kind, eco-chic sustainable fashion handbags created from repurposing truck inner-tubes. There will also be a Palm Reader.

September 25, 3-5 PM - Author Amanda Flower at The Learned Owl Book Shop
Meet Amanda Flower with her mystery Maid of Murder.

September 28, 6-8 PM - Fantasy author Cinda Chima at The Learned Owl Book Shop
Cinda Chima kicks off her release tour for The Exiled Queen at The Learned Owl. This new young-adult fantasy novel is the follow-up to the New York Times-bestselling The Demon King. Chima is also known to fans for her "Heir" trilogy, The Warrior Heir, The Wizard Heir, and The Dragon Heir (all from Hyperion). The event starts at 6 PM with a book signing and runs until 8 PM.
