January 17, 1-3 PM - Author Alan Dutka at The Learned Owl Book Shop
History Press author Alan Dutka will be at The Learned Owl Book Shop on Saturday, January 17th with his book AsiaTown Cleveland: From Tong Wars to Dim Sum. The book sheds light on the plight of Chinese immigrants who struggled to find a secure place in the city in the early days, including the 1925 Tong War, which was an international scandal. In spite of the anti-Asian sentiment of the time, the community persevered and paved the way for its current entrepreneurial success. Alan Dutka vividly portrays one of the oldest and most culturally diverse neighborhoods in the city.

February 12, 13, and 14 - Young Actors Studio presents My Son Pinocchio Jr.
Young Actors Studio students in grades 2-12 are proud to present the musical My Son Pinocchio Jr. This fun-filled show is about toy maker Geppetto who complains that Pinocchio, the puppet who was brought to life by the Blue Fairy, is defective. Through lively songs, Geppetto tries to convince the Blue Fairy to take Pinocchio back. However, the Fairy tries to prove that Geppetto got exactly what he wished for. Show times are February 12, 13, and 14th at 7 PM each evening with an additional matinee on the 14th at 2 PM.
