Every child who submits an entry will receive a certificate for free ice cream courtesy of Hershey's... and each winning entry will receive a $50 visa gift card. Great Clips of Hudson will honor the teachers who are the subjects of the winning entries by donating $200 to the teacher's school library in their honor and with a plaque commemorating their accomplishment to be displayed in their classroom. Through February 29 - Funky February Art Show at Hudson Fine Art and Framing
Add some fun to your February at our funky February Art Show! This year's bright and colorful show features striking and interesting works of art by Maria Zanetta, Charlotte Lees, and Karen Koch.
Maria Zanetta creates mixed media paintings that explore the themes of metamorphosis, growth and change. She has always been very interested in experimenting with different textures and mediums. They reflect her fascination and love of color and the interplay of texture and color as the fundamental building blocks of her art. She believes that art and culture are intertwined and art is as much about inspiration as it is about learning from those that came before us.
Charlotte Lees has created mixed media sculptures in stone, stainless steel, aluminum, bronze and wood. She enjoys the freedom of developing concepts without material restraint and believes that art should enrich lives as well as beautify the area. Art is Charlotte's passion. She has been creating for over 25 years and is continually inspired by her environment. She finds excitement in projects that challenge her to create new images. As an artist, her desire is to encourage people to interact with the artwork - intellectually, emotionally and physically.
Karen Kock uses bold colors applied in transparent layers, giving her paintings a bright, cheerful feel. Her inspiration comes from the simple things around her: the change of the seasons, the color of the sky today, or the flowers blooming in her yard. She delights in them, turning the images into small-scale abstracts in acrylic and watercolor.
These three women will be brightening and enriching our gallery for the entire month of February. Chase away the winter blues and step into a fun world of color. We can't wait to see you! (Info about the artists was gathered from the artists' personal websites.)
