During July - Where's Waldo? in Hudson
You're invited to join in a month-long scavenger hunt for Waldo hosted by 250 indie bookstores across the nation. During July 2014, The Learned Owl and other participating bookstores will champion the Shop Local message by enlivening downtown areas with a community-wide scavenger hunt activity in which everyone is welcome - kids, parents, and Waldo-lovers of all ages.
On July 1, 2014, Hudson Waldo-spotters will set off on a hunt to find the elusive character and - new this year! - his canine sidekick Woof, who will be hidden around two dozen downtown businesses. Anyone who wishes to participate can pick up a Find Waldo passport at a participating business and collect a store stamp or signature for each Waldo they spot. Eagle-eyed Waldo spotters will be eligible for prizes culminating on July 31 with a grand ceremony at The Learned Owl at 4 PM.

Friday & Saturday nights, July 11 through August 22 - Summer Music Nights at First & Main
Grab some chairs and a blanket and head over to the First & Main Village Green for evenings of music, dancing and giveaways. Enjoy the sounds of top bands from the area as they perform lively cover music and originals to suit all tastes. Concerts run from 7-9 PM and are free to the public. [see schedule here]

July 16-19 - Young Actors Studio Presents Chicago
Students of Young Actors Studio in grades 7-12 will bring back the roaring twenties in their production of Chicago! The story is about Roxie Hart who murders a faithless lover and convinces her husband Amos to take the rap... until he finds out he's been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another "Merry Murderess", Velma Kelly, join forces in search of fame, fortune, and an acquittal. This sharp-edged satire features a dazzling score and high energy dancing! Show dates are July 16th, 17th, 18th, and 19th at 7 PM each evening with an additional matinee at 2 PM on the 19th. July 17-20 - Merchants of Hudson Sidewalk Sale
The 28th annual sidewalk sale will provide shoppers with a chance to save BIG at more than 80 local businesses throughout downtown and greater Hudson. Everything from books to clothes to toys, home decor and sporting equipment will be offered at great bargains. July 18, 7-9 PM - Colors and Cocktails at Bellabor Art Jewelry and Life Needs Art
Come for an evening of fun and art. Go home with not one - but TWO! - completed artworks: one to wear and one to display. During the evening you will make a colorful pair of chain maille earrings and a unique paper collage. No painting or jewelry skills needed!
