October 4, 1-3 PM - Mystery author Les Roberts at The Learned Owl Book Shop
Come chat with author Les Roberts and pick up his newest title, Wet Work. This is the second novel featuring Dominick Candiotti, who first appeared in The Strange Death of Father Candy. Les Roberts is the author of 17 mystery novels featuring Cleveland private eye Milan Jacovich, as well as 12 other books. October 10, 5-8 PM - Second Friday Art Hop. Theme: "Fall Back Into Art"
Second Friday Art Hops are a collaborative effort designed to promote the arts in Hudson and support the work of studio artists and galleries. Artist studios and galleries in Hudson have teamed up with local businesses to host a regular monthly event for art lovers in the area. Visitors can tour working studios or art galleries in the downtown Hudson area. Peek inside an artist's studio and see firsthand the work that's being created in Hudson's expanding arts community. The studios and art galleries offer a wide variety of artwork: paintings, jewelry, watercolors, oil paintings, realistic work and abstract art. You can even catch live music around town. Many of the artists offer art classes and workshops and will be happy to tell you about them. Maps are available at participating studios and galleries or download one here.

Meet children's author and illustrator Phil and Erin Stead. Mr. Stead's newest book is Sebastian and the Balloon. Together, they created the Caldecott-winning A Sick Day for Amos McGee.

October 16, 17, and 18 - Young Actors Studio presents Zombie Prom
Just in time for Halloween, Young Actors Studio will perform Zombie Prom. This Off Broadway musical is set in the atomic 1950s at Enrico Fermi High School where a zany, tyrannical principal tries to keep control of her students. However, issues arise when the pretty senior, Toffee, falls in love with the class bad boy. Due to family pressure and past history, she is forced to end the romance. With a broken heart, the bad boy charges off on his motorcycle to the nuclear waste dump. After being exposed to the toxic waste, he returns to the school glowing and determined to reclaim Toffee's heart. He still wants to graduate, but more than anything, he is determined to take Toffee to the prom. The principal orders him to "drop dead", while a local reporter searching for a scandal labels him as the freak du jour! You won't want to miss how a great selection of original 1950s songs keep the action rocking across the stage! Show dates are October 16-18 at 7 PM each evening, with an additional matinee at 2 PM on the 18th. Catch a special appearance by Santa and his elves, and watch the lighting of the luminarias at 4:30 PM. Join the Celebration of Lights & Caroling at the Gazebo at 5 PM and chime in with the Western Reserve Community Band, Hudson Community Chorus and Santa who will lead the caroling.


December 2014:

December 7, Noon-5 PM - Hudson Holiday Walk
Hudson's annual Holiday Walk is a beautiful way to enjoy all that the season brings. In historic downtown Hudson, surrounded by 215 years of tradition, you will enjoy the Live Nativity on the Clocktower Green, courtesy of the First Congregational Church of Hudson. There is music and caroling all over town, thanks to the Hudson Community Chorus, the Western Reserve Community Band, and a chorus of all area Girl Scouts. First & Main sponsors horse and carriage rides and special events on the First & Main Green. Hudson merchants have refreshments, giveaways, drawings and more. (details to come)
